The adoption fee for puppies and kittens is $36.
The adoption fee for adult dogs and cats is $46.
If the animal is positively known to be neutered/spayed, the fee will be less by $25.
These fees include a $25 spay/neuter deposit which will be refunded upon proof from a veterinarian that the animal has been spayed or neutered.
An animal will become available for adoption by anyone OTHER than it's owner (proof of ownership is required) when we open on the date that is listed on that animal's page. Animals are adopted on a first come, first served basis! WE CANNOT ACCEPT PRE-PAYMENT!! If there is more than one vehicle at the gate when we open customers are helped in vehicle order, not the order in the door!
City of Clovis Animal Control Shelter is a municipal shelter under the direction of the Clovis Police Department. We are a very small shelter without much in the way of funds. We do not have a veterinarian or animal behaviorist/evaluation team on staff, and often do not know the background of the animals that come into the shelter. Due to a major animal overpopulation problem in Clovis, we do not have the resources (or space) to keep most animals for more than a few days.
City of Clovis Animal Control does not have the capabilities of shipping animals to other locations. So if there is an animal you are interested in adopting, please make the proper arrangements to get the animal to you.
Please note that Animal Control can only pick up stray animals from within the city limits of Clovis. We are unable to pick up animals from outside this jurisdiction. Should you have a stray and live outside the city proper but within Curry County, please contact the Curry County Sherriff or, on Cannon AFB, the Security Forces Squadron.

The shelter is located on the southeast corner of Brady and Norris in Clovis, New Mexico.
